Delivery is set by your local utility and doesn't change with your price plan, so the fastest way to lower your bill is usually to use fewer kWh or shift them to cheaper hours. Read how to read your hydro bill or compare price plans.

Assumptions and method

Commodity prices are the Regulated Price Plan prices effective November 1, 2026. Time-of-Use assumes 64% off-peak, 18% mid-peak and 18% on-peak use. Usage is multiplied by a typical 1.035 line-loss factor.

Delivery and regulatory charges are representative estimates for each density class, not any specific utility's tariff. Regulatory charges are modelled at about 0.62¢/kWh plus a $0.25 administration charge.

The Ontario Electricity Rebate (15.7%) is applied to the pre-tax subtotal, and HST (13%) is calculated on the subtotal. Customers on the Ontario Electricity Support Program receive an additional monthly credit.
